Dr Goran Mitreski is an Interventional and Diagnostic Radiologist at Northern Health, Melbourne, Victoria, with subspecialty expertise spanning advanced image-guided intervention and diagnostic radiology. He completed his radiology and interventional radiology training through Austin Health and has extensive experience in hepatobiliary imaging and intervention, with additional interests in neuroradiology, thoracic imaging, and cardiac CT.

Dr Mitreski has played a leading role in developing new interventional radiology services at Northern Health. He established the Pulmonary Embolism Response Team (PERT) service, developed the hospital's Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt (TIPS) program and multidisciplinary hepatoma meeting pathway, and introduced Adrenal Vein Sampling (AVS) as a standalone regional service. His work has focused on expanding access to complex image-guided therapies while reducing the need for patients to be referred to tertiary metropolitan centres.

He is passionate about promoting high-quality image-guided intervention within regional and peripheral healthcare networks and supporting the growth of interventional radiology services across Australia.

Dr Mitreski serves as Education Lead for Northern Medical Imaging, overseeing radiology education, multidisciplinary teaching, journal clubs, peer review, and continuing professional development. He maintains a strong academic affiliation with the University of Melbourne through medical student teaching, clinical supervision, and collaborative research.

An active researcher and educator, Dr Mitreski is a regular faculty member at radiology conferences and CME events, with research interests including interventional oncology, pulmonary embolism management, artificial intelligence in radiology, and healthcare service innovation. He has served as both convener and faculty for national and international radiology conferences and is committed to advancing the specialty through education, research, innovation, and service development.
